Ralph Vogler has had a long-standing interest in painting. He began taking lessons from local artists in the 1960’s. Although he trained some at the Atlanta College of Art, most of his training was under the tutorship of Roman and Constantine Chatov, who trained under Brockman, in New York and later Roman’s son Marc. They became the leading portrait painters in the Southeast where they trained many artists. It was in those classes where Vogler developed his interest in the figure and portraiture. More recently he has studied with Chris DiDomizio. His work has appeared in many exhibits locally, statewide and in New York.
